PRESENTATION TOPIC--  The Psychology of Risk and Investing

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW: 
Professor Ricciardi will discuss behavioral finance, the psychology behind risk-taking, what makes individuals feel the way they do when making financial judgments, and how understanding our cognitive (mental) and affective (emotional) issues makes us better investors.

Victor Ricciardi 

Speaker Biography:
Victor Ricciardi is Assistant Professor of Financial Management at Goucher College in Baltimore. He teaches courses in financial planning, investments, corporate finance, behavioral finance, and the psychology of money. Professor Ricciardi is a leading expert on the academic literature and emerging research issues in behavioral finance. Kent Baker and Victor Ricciardi are co-editors of the book Investor Behavior: The Psychology of Financial Planning and Investing was published in February 2014 and the book is part of the Wiley Finance Series. Professor Ricciardi’s 2nd book Financial Behavior – Players, Services, Products, and Markets was published by Oxford University Press in June 2017. He also holds a graduate certificate in financial planning and financial therapy from KSU. Professor Ricciardi has been quoted in 125 news stories and has appeared on 30 radio/podcast interviews on various behavioral finance issues.

Charge/Fee: 
$5 per person and per guest with pre-registration before October 31st
