1. How a Roth account can benefit you and provide a tax-free legacy for your heirs.
2. How IRA required minimum distributions (RMDs) differ from 401(k) RMDs.
3. The different rules that apply to spouse and to non-spouse beneficiaries who inherit an IRA, and how non-spouse heirs can maximize an inherited IRA.

Rachel Sheedy is editor of Kiplingerís Retirement Report, a monthly publication for affluent subscribers planning for and living financially secure lives in retirement.She has written extensively on Social Security claiming strategies, rules and strategies for IRAs and Roth IRAs, reverse mortgages, and state taxes on retirees. Sheedy has served as the editor of Kiplinger.comís State-by-State Guide to Taxes on Retirees, which was a finalist for a Digital National Magazine Award in 2012.Prior to Kiplingerís, Sheedy worked for a New York Times regional newspaper and Dow Jones & Company. She has a masterís degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a bachelorís degree from Wake Forest University.
